The Greater Nashua Regional Coordination Council for Community Transportation (RCC7)
The Greater Nashua Regional Coordination Council for Community Transportation (RCC7) is moving forward addressing transportation needs on an individual basis as well as seeking to bridge the transportation gaps.
The RCC 7 is working to provide improved, cost effective, coordinated transportation services to those who need it, including persons with disabilities, the elderly, veterans, and individuals with lower incomes.
The major community transportation providers are the Nashua Transit System serving Nashua, and the Towns of Hudson and Merrimack which purchase demand response paratransit, the Souhegan Valley Transportation Collaborative serving Amherst, Brookline, Hollis, Milford, Mont Vernon, and Wilton, the Gate City Bike Coop, and the Volunteer Driver programs – Caregivers of Catholic Charities, the CVTC Program that covers Mason, and the Greater Salem Caregivers which covers Pelham.
The RCC7 works collaboratively with the social service agencies in the Greater Nashua region hoping to address their concerns about transportation. Outreach is conducted regularly to ensure that awareness of the RCC7 occurs. All are welcome at the RCC7 monthly meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at NRPC, 30 Temple Street, Suite 310, Nashua, NH 03060. Donna Marceau has had a lifelong interest in community systems. After graduating from Northeastern University’s Master in Public Administration program, her journey led from being the Director of Tax Policy for the City of Boston where she negotiated payment-in-lieu of tax payments from Boston’s tax-exempt institutions, to teaching college and running the Nashua WorkreadyNH program where it was a struggle for people to find employment opportunities that matched their transportation resources, to advocating for the homeless of Nashua to improve their work, housing, and transportation options. Donna is the vice-president of the Gate City Bike Coop. Having knowledge of various cultures and languages, Donna chairs Mayor Donchess’s City of Nashua Cultural Connections Committee where she emphasizes how newcomers can access transportation options.
Donna tells people, if you want to help the homeless, buy bus tickets!
