Ferry service refers to the transportation of passengers, vehicles, and goods across bodies of water, typically between two points. Ferries are vessels designed to carry passengers and vehicles across rivers, lakes, seas, or other bodies of water. Ferry services can vary widely in terms of the size and capacity of vessels, frequency of trips, and the amenities offered onboard. They play a crucial role in connecting communities and facilitating transportation in areas where bridges or other infrastructure may be impractical or unavailable.
At this time New Hampshire does not have ferry service for regular commuting or the transportation of vehicles. There are seasonal ferry services that typically serve recreational purposes. In all cases these services only transport passengers and goods; no vehicles.
