Friends Program – RSVP Caregivers
The Friends Program, founded in 1975, is a non-profit social service organization that works to strengthen communities by building positive connections and solutions for at-risk youth, families and seniors.
We serve eight NH counties and work on behalf of the state’s most vulnerable populations. The agency strives to meet its mission through operating a permanent year-round shelter for homeless families with children, mentoring programs for at-risk youth, an intergenerational program that creates meaningful opportunities for seniors to work with children in classrooms, and a senior volunteer program that links a volunteer’s skills to otherwise unmet needs within the communities that we serve.
Transportation Assistance for seniors 60+: RSVP Caregivers, is a Concord based program designed to meet the needs of those aging at home. Staff recruit, screen and support volunteers who provide door-to-door transportation for medical appointments, free grocery shopping, and a telephone reassurance program. We aim to keep individuals living at home longer with improved social interactions and social support. There is no charge for our services and they are open to seniors in the Concord area age 60 or over, or those with a qualifying medical condition.
Volunteer Drivers Needed: If you are over 55 and live near Merrimack County and like to drive or shop, we would like your help with our Caregivers Program to help seniors maintain their independence.
Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm
